Background Check Starter Kit
An integration starter kit to look up criminal records and flag matches
◎ How might we offer a starting point for integrating a background check into an onboarding solution?
Analyzing different customer solutions showed that there is no common denominator for one generic background check solution, due to the variety of different sources used. Therefore we decided to create a starter kit to speed up implementation, including one integration with the most common provider. (We used the experience canvas to formulate our hypothesis).
To scope the functionality that we wanted to cover, I created a flow diagram, to offer a visualization that is agnostic to a concrete user interface.
To go wide and generate many solution ideas, we used the design studio technique.
Then we created a prototype and validated it with business analysts.
The delivered starter kit allows adding parties, a WorldCheck integration, and a UI to view and process matches.
This project was a great learning experience in analyzing, identifying and creating an offering for an additional business component. I had a lot of fun driving the creation phase together with the team of PM, UX engineer, and software engineer. ¶
